Today is the last day of school for me. I have one more preschool music program and a piano recital for my private students, but the teaching part is complete. Tomorrow is Hadley's last day of school, and then summer really begins in earnest around here. I remember being completely exhausted by the time school started again last year, and this is making me nervous about summer this year. I'm hoping I can keep these girls busy enough that they won't fight all summer long while I'm busy working at The Farm. I'm also hoping they don't hate me for providing them the opportunity to live in the garden all summer. Looking at the calendar makes me tired. School starts back on August 12th (!!!) for Hadley, which means summer really isn't even very long. We have a vacation planned for a week of both June and July plus swimming lessons and art classes and a huge garden and the Farmer's Market and summer play dates with friends and a music camp and birthdays and and and and. Why do we call this kind of madness Summer Vacation?
I'll need one in September.
