To The Beach

We recently took a week to visit one of our all time favorite vacation spots over on the Oregon Coast. We wasted no time kicking off our shoes and digging into the sand.
The first thing we did when we pulled in to Newport was visit our favorite kite shop so Hadley could spend some of her birthday money. We saw some amazing tide pools just minutes from our campground. More star fish than we could count plus anemone and a seal just hanging out on a rock right in the middle of a handful of explorers. One of the things we love so much about this coast is the topography change between the beach and the campground. In our camping spot there was so much great fairy house making material. This is Hadley's fairy house.
The mail man likes the blustery coast. I personally could have done with a little more warmth, but I'm not complaining now that we're home and it's 95 degrees.
Camping breakfast is soooo yummy. Eggs and hash browns taste really good first thing in the morning.
Especially when the sun is shining!Doing dishes while camping?
Not my favorite thing, but I'll do it if it means I get a week at the ocean.
Every time I visit Oregon I get a little itchy to move again. I wouldn't want to live right on the coast, but Corvallis screams my name. I just have to remind myself to be content where I am and enjoy these beautiful places as a treat.

My local meals for last week were all about seafood. Oysters, clam chowder, and fish and chips. I was seriously tempted by the $5 cans of tuna, too. I didn't bring any home, but I kind of regret that decision now. I think I could eat a tuna sandwich every day and not get sick of tuna. Especially fresh from the ocean. But that's another story for another day.
