Red-White-Blue and a Dreamsicle on a plate.

We enjoyed plenty of festive colors and yummy food this weekend. Fresh berries from Oregon on our cereal for breakfast and local burgers and watermelon from the next state over for dinner. Then a completely non-local and totally divine Dreamsicle dessert to follow that up. Hadley and I kicked off the festivities with a game of UNO. My cards came up totally red, white, and blue without any cheating. Promise. I couldn't resist using up some blue star fabric I've had on hand to make the girls matching skirts for the firworks in the park. They were so easy and took about 30 minutes total due to the awesome red bias tape binding I used to finish them. Amelia though it was the best thing ever to have the same skirt as her big "Sis". They played and danced around all night together while we waited in the park for the fireworks to start. I thought Amelia might be frightened of the popping and cracking, but she love the "cracker-fires". She even fell asleep near the end and never flinched once at all the banging going on around her!
