It's beginning to look a lot like...

I'm using Berrocco sock yarn and 32" Addi Turbo needles to do the magic loop method and make two socks at once. I'm glad the lady at the yarn store who taught me to do this talked me into it. I'm the kind of person who would get one sock made and decide it takes too long and never finish the second one. This way I have no choice. It's two or nothing.

We have snow again. It was sort of shocking to wake up and see everything glowing at 5:45 this morning. It was very confusing at first, but then I figured out what was going on and went back to sleep. We bundled up and took Amelia out on the sled so I could finally deliver my pay it forward packages and return some library books.
I love living so close to everything I need. Even in winter it's so much easier to convince Amelia to bundle up and go for a walk than it is to cajole her into her car seat.

  1. Great work on the socks!! That's a little trick I want to learn this year. And do I see Addi Turbo needles there in the photo? VERY NICE!! can't wait to see the finished products!

And Yay for more snow. Isn't it perfect?

  2. Magic loop is something I've always been interested in, but I haven't tried. It seems like I would accidentally knit one sock to the other. Do you have a good resource, because I also have a bad case of SSS.

  3. Socks! I bow to the master! I haven't worked up the gumption to knit a pair myself! I hope you'll share pix of the finished socks!

  4. Nice work on the sock! I don't know how to do two socks at once! I just have to be fact and cast on for the second one in the same sitting as I finished the first one!

  5. Wow, socks! Now that is some knitting ambition!! I've never even attempted socks, and I don't even know if I ever will. I haven't even touched knitting needles in so long....

Beautiful snowy pictures. I'm jealous that you can walk to do those kind of errands.

p.s. -- Jesma is finally starting to use a sewing machine her hubby got her a while back ( and I told her to track you down for some ideas on easy projects!

  6. Snow! We had 75 degree weather yesterday, but where unble to enjoy it due to lots of wind and a sick kid. Bummer!

I love the socks. That is cool that you are making two at once. I am the same way about finishing stuff. I have one baby bootie sitting around and now I can't remember what size hook I used so I will probalby never make the mate.

  7. Wow! Magic Loop even! I'm impressed, and they look terrific!

  8. I am amazed my want people knit... I have NO patience!
