Put this in your bowl and give it!

Several years ago I discovered Martha Stewart's Everyday Food magazine and instantly fell in love with how "busy friendly" it truly was. The first Christmas season I subscribed to the magazine I discovered Toffee Blondie Brownies. Since then I have made this recipe many, many times, and it never lets me down. I recently made a batch for Shannon when she won the bowl prize, and I thought I'd share the recipe here. This treat is fast and sure to impress. It looks mighty darling in a fabric bowl as well... (wink, wink).
Toffee Blondies

1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
(cream together)
2 eggs
1t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
(add to creamed sugar mixture)
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1c. toffee bits (like Heath bits)
(stir into above mixture by hand)

Line an 8x8 square baking pan with foil (you can use buttered parchment as well) and pour mixture into pan
Smooth to fill pan evenly
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes
Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes and turn out on the rack to finish cooling.
Peel away foil and slice using a serrated knife or a pizza wheel

(this recipe doubles nicely!)
