I did what I was supposed to do.
Now I feel better.
My house was actually completely clean (every room all at once) for one day. That's rare these days. I blanched and froze my broccoli, and I made something! All this food preservation has left my sewing machine (Patience) feeling very lonely. But just in time for fall I pulled out my favorite stack of fabrics and finally sat down to sew. I used Denyse Schmidt's Katie Jump Rope line for the accents and some thrifted brown corduroy for the main body. I used the pleated beauty bag pattern I've become so familiar with and scaled it down to make a smaller purse sized bag. It's perfect for holding the necessities plus a diaper and even a book or a small embroidery project. I'm loving it so far and thinking it would make a great small diaper bag when I get tired of using it for my purse. I've changed the original pleated beauty bag from this book substantially. My straps are wider, I added two extra pockets for keys and cell phone, and I added a magnetic snap to keep it closed. I like it much better this way.
I also got myself a spunky new haircut. This was perhaps the best thing that happened this week. It's been 2 years since I paid for a haircut. I'm telling you...treat yourself to some pampering, friends. It'll change everything. (The pictures were requested by the family) The best thing about this haircut is that I can now let my hair dry curly and not do a single thing to it besides add goop, scrunch it up, and run. Or I can blow dry and straighten my mop and it frames my face in a very happy way. You should have seen the pile of hair on the floor. Maybe I should weigh myself again!
I have more fun stuff to share, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow....taunt, taunt...(there is nothing having to do with a baby in this taunt)
