We love NPR at our house. My favorite show is This American Life, but I like most all of the shows our local public radio hosts. We've been meaning to pledge to our local station for a long time now, and this year we finally put our good intentions into action (actually Phil did). The pledge gift we received was a pair of tickets to the quiz show Whad' ya know. They did a local taping in Boise on Friday night and my Mom came into town just in time to babysit while Phil and I grabbed some dinner and took in the show (thanks Mom!!). It was a lot of fun to see the voices we hear every week, and the guests they had on were fun to listen to as well. The stage was colorful and full of local flavor, which made sitting in the audience much more visually interesting.
Michael Feldman did a great job of making the headlines of Boise/Idaho very humorous and interesting. If This American Life ever comes....I'll be first in line for tickets. I think a desire to attend live recordings of talk shows makes me a quintessential nerd. That's a good thing.
