A chair of bowlies!

I found this great book at the library about making fabric bowls. I know. Totally 80's. I totally know, but I don't care. I couldn't stop thinking about them and how cool they are. I just had to make one for myself. Because I love fabric. Because I need color. Because I also live in a tiny little house and I need my fabric and color to function. I guess this bowl will live on the entry table and hold keys or something. It will also hold bread at the dinner table. Cause it's going to get some place mats and napkins to go with it. I don't know how else it will function, but it will. And I will be happy every time I see it. Do you Like? I'm thinking these bowls might be something I could sell at the Farmer's Market???

The bowl in progress....Also if you look close you can see the embroidery I keep promising you. Both mine and Hadley's. Hers is the "person in profile". Hair flying behind (her vision). Mine is the little tree.
The front and backside of my reversible bowl.
My favorite view of the bowl.

  3. I agree with Kevin and Amanda -- you ARE amazing! I LOVE the fabric bowl, and really want one of my own. I've never heard of such a thing (80s or otherwise). I think it's beautiful and place mats and napkins will be a really nice addition! Photos, please.

  4. I think that you and your fabric bowls are amazing, I think it would be awesome to have a matching set of placemats and I would totally use it to hold bread.
