African Children's Choir

Last night Amelia and I had the privilege of seeing this amazing choir. My friend from work e-mailed me to tell me they were performing and I jumped at the chance to attend. They were wonderful and inspiring. This choir is comprised of children aged 6-10 years old. Most of them are orphans and they audition to be taken in by the African Children's Choir organization. They are given a place to live, educational support, and they travel the world performing. They have been seen and heard on American Idol, and one of their pieces was featured on the movie Blood Diamond (An incredible, but depressing movie; it will change the way you view the diamond industry completely). Anyway, it was wonderful and they are touring the U.S right now so if you get a chance to see them, it is sooooo worth the effort. (disclaimer: there is a worship element to their show, but it didn't really take away from the performance for me...and I'm pretty hard core non-religious, which is not the same thing as non-spiritual :) )

  2. Amelia loved it! I held her in the Moby wrap and she was kicking and squealing the whole time.

  3. I saw them in Moscow, Idaho when I was in school. Obviously it was whole different set of kids (since it was over 10 years ago...). I remember it as a very amazing evening. And how great was it that your littlest bug got to come wit you! -Sara

BTW-Shawn says that after seeing your picture he completely remembered you. It is SUCH a small world!
